Creators can see the numbers. What should they do next?
What 12 creators told me
5M+ TikTok followers combined, from 2.8K to 4M each. Reached through my creator friends.
Fewer than half had checked TikTok Studio in the past month.
Of those, 3 changed a video or their plan because of it.
Not sure which number matters, or what to change.
…it would be more useful if TikTok translated the numbers into clearer, actionable insights.
The hardest part
- Deciding what to change4
- Knowing which numbers matter3
- Finding the analytics2
- Understanding the numbers1
- No trouble2
The top two answers are about what to do next, not finding the data.
I wish it ranked content metrics so it’s super clear what actually matters.
the TT studio app feels harder to navigate/understand
Who to reach
All 4 weekly creators checked their analytics in the past month.
Only 1 of 5 checked. This is the group to reach first.

Three creator questions
“understanding what i should be paying attention to” → Our team + Central Creator: teach one number at a time in webinars and newsletters.
“very hit or miss” → Central Creator: explain that numbers give hints, not sure answers. Product: fix confusing labels.
“What videos and Hooks work” → Our team: show one change to try, like a stronger opening.
The Next Post Lab
A short, hands-on class our team runs as a live webinar. Creators bring two of their own videos and leave with a one-page plan. It helps drive adoption of key product priorities by getting more US creators using TikTok Studio analytics.
Put two of your own videos side by side.
Pick one reason one did better.
Write down one change for your next post.
I wish TikTok explained more clearly why certain videos perform better than others … and what I could do differently to improve future posts.
Who I’ll invite
I’ll agree simple rules with Data & Analytics, based on the survey, and use them to pull the invite list.
US creators with at least two recent posts, so they have something to compare.
They open their analytics least (1 of 5), so they have the most to gain.
They already use analytics, so the class has real examples to learn from.
I think being able to see more detailed analytics for certain things would help a ton.
Rollout
Make the worksheet with Central Creator. Set invite rules with Data & Analytics. Product checks the examples. Invite creators in the app and by newsletter.
Run the webinar. A week later, check in: did they post, what did they learn, where did they get stuck?
If creators use their plans, run more classes, start a creator group and make a do-it-yourself version.
What I need from each team
Build the worksheet with me, and turn it into a template if the class works.
Help set the invite rules, pull the list, and check if creators use analytics more afterward.
Check the examples before the class, and take the list of things that confused creators in the app.
I’d love retention to be higher in the UI
Skip rates and how each factor plays into my video's reach
How we’ll know it worked
With Data & Analytics: creators invited and who came, plans finished, creators who posted and tried their change, and whether they check analytics more afterward.
“What change did you pick?” “Where did you get stuck?” And after their next post: “What did you learn?”
With Data & Analytics, I’ll pull a bigger list of similar creators and randomly split it: half get invited, half don’t. We’ll track both groups over the same weeks using the same app data (analytics opens, posting and views), so any difference comes from the class, not from who signed up.
